Any middleclass citizen would agree with this: financial planning can be quite a drag! With all the bills you have to pay every single month of every single year, it’s quite difficult to reserve some cash for our chosen expenses. Often, we don’t even know where our salaries go, as they seem to disappear as soon as we receive them.
Though a good budget plan would help us save some cash for a rainy day, it would still be hard to plan for unexpected necessities that might suddenly pop up out of the blue. For these situations, loans become essential. If we don’t have the money at hand to answer for some of these demands, we have no other recourse but to borrow some cash.
One of the more popular types of quick borrowing is what people call payday loans. These are cash advances that help us get through the period between our paydays. As such, they have a shorter maturity period and a limit commensurate to how much we earn.
If you find yourself needing a payday loan, here are things you must consider:
* You must have an established regular income. This presupposes the act that you should be gainfully employed in good standing. Online payday loans depend on how much you make, after all, and the lender would need the assurance that you really have work and that you really are paid at certain stated periods. The average salary requirement in most cases is between $800 to $1,200.
* You must have an open checking account. This account should have been in existence for at least 4 months.
* You must be of legal age. People below the age of 18, which is the emancipation age in every State, will not be allowed to secure a payday loan even if they are gainfully employed. The reason? They’re too young to officially enter a contract.
* The amount you could borrow depends on what is prescribed by State laws. Different States have different ceilings for payday cash advances. Some are pegged at $500, while others go for as high as $1,000. Know the amount that your State allows before factoring in payday loans into your budget.
Because payday loans online are often quick solutions to dire problems, and because their maturity period is very short (one to two weeks), payday loans online are immediately granted once the application is approved. If you apply for a payday loan any day between Monday and Thursday, you are sure to get it within the next day.
Payday loans online usually charge $15 to $30 for every $100 of the amount borrowed. This is quite a steep interest rate, but considering the expediency by which it is awarded and the risk the creditor has taken, it is required to recoup his investment and to make a profit.
There are three things you should keep in mind when applying for a online payday loan:
1. Always canvas for the online payday loan with a lower interest. Since the maturity period shall accrue by the next payday, you must take the applicable interest rate into serious consideration.
2. Make sure that you select a lending institution that would not violate your right to privacy. They should be trustworthy enough as not to disclose the personal information you would share to outside parties.
3. Always read the fine print of the contract. This is very basic. Never sign anything unless you read them in their entirety. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about matters that you don’t quite understand. Make sure that all the provisions of the contract are fully understood.
Payday loans online are excellent ways to keep your head above water during trying times. But as with the aforementioned analogy, you should know how to swim before resorting to this rescue. Otherwise, you might just end up in deeper depths than before.

A gas water heater is nearly identical to an electric water heater, except that it does not contain the two heating elements, but instead has a gas burner at the bottom, with the chimney running up through the middle of the tank.
- A water heater consists of the following parts, as shown in the figure above:
- A heavy inner steel tank that holds the hot water
Typically, this tank holds 40 to 60 gallons. It has to be able to hold the pressure of a residential water system, which typically runs at 50 to 100 pounds per square inch (psi). The tank is tested to handle 300 psi. The steel tank normally has a bonded glass liner to keep rust out of the water.
Insulation surrounding the tank
- A dip tube to let cold water into the tank
- A pipe to let hot water out of the tank
- A thermostat to control the temperature of the water inside the tank (Many electric water heaters have a separate thermostat on each element.)
- Heating elements to heat the water (These are the thick electric elements similar to those you see inside an electric oven.)
- A drain valve that allows you to drain the tank to replace the elements or move the tank
- A pressure relief valve (This is an important safety feature that keeps the tank from exploding.)
- A sacrificial anode rod to help keep the steel tank from corroding
The thermostat controls the temperature of the water inside the tank. Normally you can set the temperature between 120 and 180 degrees Fahrenheit (49 to 82 degrees Celsius). It is generally recommended that you keep the temperature between 120 to 140 degrees F (49 to 60 C) –especially if there are children living in the house — to prevent scalding. It also saves energy.
Normally, the thermostat is underneath a cover plate and it has a knob or a screw that you can use to set the temperature.
As cold water comes in, it remains at the bottom of the tank because it is denser than hot water. If you use the hot water faster than the heating elements can heat the incoming cold water, and if you consume all of the hot water that the tank holds, you run out of hot water in the middle of your shower. If this seems to happen too often, it could mean that the bottom heating element in an electric water heater has burned out or that your water heater is too small for your house. Or it could mean that you are taking really, really long showers.

That’s the experience with the Inspiron 910 Mini not the mini-experience! Well I am in web design and have been toying with the idea of getting a more modern laptop as my old Dell Inspiron from 2003 is as heavy as a brick. My step dad just bought a top of the range Toshiba Portege at around £1,200, but he’s at that time in life where 1,200 quid is affordable, where as I’m still in financial recovery from my last divorce (yes there was more than one!)! So I happened across the Dell Inspiron 910 Mini on the Dell website whilst looking at specs of normal laptops to use when out and about demonstrating our CMS system to potential clients, wow £299 inc VAT and delivery that is a bargain!
There I was credit card at the ready, wrist twitching, hang on I thought, why am I buying this, do I really need it? No, I don’t NEED it I just HAVE TO HAVE ONE . [Puts credit card away]
The next day I happen to have to work on my step Dads’ ultra lightweight Toshiba , wow this is lush, so light, I wish I could afford one.
The next day I had to go to a clients with my laptop, and about put my back out trying to put it in the car passenger foot well whilst sitting in the drivers’ seat, hmm decided I do have a NEED for the new dell Inspiron mini after all! It only weights around 1kg. So as I had a management meeting that afternoon I informed my finance manager I would be ordering one and that was that. So Friday October 3rd I placed the order on the Dell website, and on the 8th I got back from a client meeting at Biffa the UK’s preferred provider of glass recycling services to find a Dell cardboard box on my desk, I thought it couldn’t possibly be the new mini as the confirmation email I got said it would arrive on or around the 20th October, but sure enough it really had arrived.
Well I was ecstatic and got it out and started setting it up straight away, you know remove McAfee Security Centre and install Avast Anti Virus, that kind of thing. As it has an integrated web cam I also downloaded Windows Live Messenger and had a quick video chat with my girlfriend whilst she was doing her ironing, fantastic!
So I googled ‘mobile broadband suppliers’ and toyed with ordering the USB dongle from Three, as their 5GB monthly allowance is only 15 quid a month so the best looking deal, providing those coverage stories you hear about Three Mobile are not really true!
Anyway, it was soon time to go and get my daughter from school so I thought yeah I’ll take it with me and even though I don’t have the mobile broadband USB Modem yet I can continue configuring it in car park if I’m early. I was early, so I turned it on, it said:
Windows could not start because of an error in the software.
Please report this problem as :
load needed DLLs for kernel.
Please contact your support person to report this problem
As we say in England “Computer says no…”
Ah dear, it was great fun whilst it lasted, then followed a 2 and a half hour telethon with Dell support in India
Apparently they were so quick to ship it to me that my service tag isn’t on their system yet. They suggested I called back in 24-48 hours, well I explained to them exactly what I thought of their suggestion as I’m sure you can image, but to no avail. I did indeed have to call back today and they have agreed to send me a replacement unit as it is within 7 days of delivery.
I hope the replacement arrives as promptly as the original unit did…
So conclusion? Apart from the fact it doesn’t work (a faulty drive in my opinion) and for the life of me I can’t get it to boot from an external drive or USB key (it doesn’t have a CD or DVD drive you know) it feels really solid, looks lovely, and is nice to handle (sounds a bit like the ideal companion to an i-phone 2.0 doesn’t it!).
Like most reviewers have stated , the keys are small (but blackberry users manage and they are larger than those keys) and the right shift key is tiny and means you can’t type an @ in the usual fashion. But the screen is nice, 3 USB slots, a monitor connector, Ethernet and earphones and mic connectors although it has both speakers and mic internally so you can Live Messenger without having to plug anything in.
On the whole, I would recommend it, providing you get one that works ! I am also yet to try it with LogMeIn which is my preferred way of dealing with how to access emails, lots of passwords, specialist software and all that kind of thing when you are out and about. Possibly the screen is going to be too small to be able to work with for extended periods of time, but I’ll let you know when the replacement arrives and I have had chance to give it a proper testing, assuming that one doesn’t break on me as soon as I start urm ‘configuring’ it!
